What determines spray foam cost in Texas
Foam is priced by installed board feet, but the real cost drivers are assembly type, prep work and what has to be removed first.
The variables that move the number
Spray foam quotes vary because the work varies. A clean new-construction roof deck is a very different job from a retrofit attic full of existing blown insulation, ductwork and storage.

- Square footage and roof geometry
- Removal and disposal of existing insulation
- Access, prep, masking and protection
- Ventilation and combustion-safety changes required by the new assembly
Foam is a system decision
Converting a vented attic to an unvented, conditioned assembly changes how the house dries, ventilates and handles combustion appliances. That is a building-science decision, not just a material purchase.
