SEER2 explained for homeowners
SEER2 is a laboratory efficiency rating tested under more realistic static pressure. Your house decides how much of it you actually get.
What the rating means
SEER2 expresses seasonal cooling efficiency under updated test conditions that better reflect real duct systems. A higher number means the equipment converts electricity into cooling more efficiently under those conditions.
Why the installation matters more than the label
Duct leakage, restricted airflow, incorrect charge and poor commissioning all reduce delivered efficiency. High-rated equipment installed into a compromised duct system will not perform to its rating.
