How HVAC and insulation work together
Equipment answers the load. Insulation and air sealing determine what the load is. Treating them separately is why so many homes stay uncomfortable after a new system.
The load is created by the building
Every square foot of leaky ceiling, every uninsulated duct run and every hour of afternoon sun adds to what the equipment must remove. Changing the equipment does not change any of that.
